【摘要】:Thistestmethodprovidesameasureofafrictionalproperty,microtexture,ofsurfaces,eitherinthefieldorinthelaboratory.Thistestmethodmaybeusedtodeterminetherelativeeffectsofvariouspolishingprocessesonmaterialsormaterialcombinations.Thevaluesmeasuredinaccordancewiththismethoddonotnecessarilyagreeordirectlycorrelatewiththoseobtainedutilizingothermethodsofdeterminingfrictionpropertiesorskidresistance.Note18212;BPNandpolishvaluesfromsimilartypesofsurfaceswillnotbenumericallyequal,primarilybecauseofthedifferencesinslidelengthandsurfaceshape.Theoreticalcorrectionofthepolishvaluestoobtainnumericalequality,eitherbymathematicalmanipulationorbyuseofspecialmeasuringscalesisnotrecommended.1.1ThistestmethodcoverstheprocedureformeasuringsurfacefrictionalpropertiesusingtheBritishPendulumSkidResistanceTester.AmethodforcalibrationofthetesterisincludedintheAnnex.1.2TheBritishPendulumTesterisadynamicpendulumimpact-typetesterusedtomeasuretheenergylosswhenarubberslideredgeispropelledoveratestsurface.Thetesterissuitedforlaboratoryaswellasfieldtestsonflatsurfaces,andforpolishvaluemeasurementsoncurvedlaboratoryspecimensfromacceleratedpolishing-wheeltests.1.3Thevaluesmeasured,BPN=BritishPendulum(Tester)Numberforflatsurfacesandpolishvaluesforacceleratedpolishing-wheelspecimens,representthefrictionalpropertiesobtainedwiththeapparatusandtheproceduresstatedhereinanddonotnecessarilyagreeorcorrelatewithotherslipperinessmeasuringequipment.1.4Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.1.5ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thevaluesgiveninparenthesesareforinformationonly.
