【摘要】:Measuringthemodulusofruptureofrefractoriesatelevatedtemperatureshasbecomeawidelyacceptedmeanstoevaluatematerialsatservicetemperatures.Manyconsumercompanieshavespecificationsbasedonthistypeoftest.Thistestmethodislimitedtofurnacesoperatingunderoxidizingconditions.However,withmodificationsforatmospherecontrolinothertestfurnaces,themajorcriteriaofthistestproceduremaybeemployedwithoutchange.Thistestmethodisdesignedforprogressiveapplicationofaforceorstressonaspecimensupportedasasimplebeamwithcenter-pointloading.Testapparatusdesignedfortheprogressiveapplicationofastrainmayyielddifferentresults,especiallysincerefractorymaterialswillreachasemiplasticstateatelevatedtemperatureswhereHooke’lawdoesnotapply,thatis,stressisthennotproportionaltostrain.Thistestmethodappliestofireddenserefractorybrickandshapes,chemicallybondedbrickandshapes,shapesformedfromcastables,plastics,orrammingmaterials,andanyotherrefractorythatcanbeformedtotherequiredspecimendimension.1.1Thistestmethodcoversdeterminationofthehigh-temperaturemodulusofruptureofrefractorybrickormonolithicrefractoriesinanoxidizingatmosphereandunderactionofaforceorstressthatisincreasedataconstantrate.1.2Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressthesafetyproblemsassociatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
