【摘要】:ThispartofBS5499specifieswatersafetysigns,tobeusedforgivinginformationontheprohibitionofcertainactionsandactivities,togivewarningsofwaterhazardsordangeroussituationsandtogivespecificinstructionsformandatoryaction.ThispartofBS5499isapplicabletosafetysignsforuseatlocationsin,onandnearwater,incoastalandinlandwaters,includingnavigationalwaters,andinalltypesofswimmingpools.Theselocationsincludethefollowing:—indoorandoutdoorswimmingpools;—paddlingpools;—harbours,docks,marinas;—beaches,piers,landingstages,fishingpoints,bridgesoverwater;—quarries,industrialandconstructionsites,agriculturalareas;—watertanks;—rivers,canals,estuaries,lakes,reservoirs,ponds.Thisstandardisapplicabletowatersafetysignsrelevanttosportandrecreationalactivities.SignsspecifiedasCategoryAsignshavebeenacceptedandregisteredbyTechnicalCommitteePH/8asapprovedsafetysigns.SignsspecifiedasCategoryBsignsarejudgedbyTechnicalCommitteePH/8torequirethefurthereducationofintendedviewersbeforetheycanberegisteredasapprovedsafetysigns.SignsspecifiedasCategoryCsignsarejudgedbyTechnicalCommitteePH/8torequireimprovementstotheirgraphicalsymbolsaswellasfurthereducationofintendedviewersbeforetheycanberegisteredasapprovedsafetysigns.NOTEInadditiontotheBSIregistrationnumber,whereapplicable,eachsignhasbeengivenacodenumberforeaseofreference.Thesecodenumbersaremadeupasfollows.—Thefirstcharactergivestheclausenumberdesignation.—Thesecondnumberindicatesthesigncategorywithinthatclause.—Thethirdcharacterisasequentialnumberfortheindividualsign.EXAMPLESThefirstunregisteredwatersafetyprohibitionsignhasthecode9.B.3001.Thesixteenthunregisteredwatersafetyhazardsignhasthecode11.B.3016.Withtheexceptionofwatersafetyprohibitionsign9.A.0003whichisCategoryA,allsignsinthispartofBS5499areCategoryBsigns.
